My old laptop is in a real poor state. It’s a Dell Inspiron 8600. That was state of the art in 2004 when we bought it just before leaving Wisconsin. Something is wrong with the motherboard, I guess. The “1” key seems to get triggerred every half a second or so. So, if you want to type “larry carlton”, you’d end up with “l1a11r1r11y 1c11ar1lt1on”. Its running Ubunto 8.10 – I think. Not sure what to do with it.
Somehow, last night, I was able to tinker around with the Keyboard repeat/bounce settings and get it to a stage where I could download some music.
